Event Operations Manager - London UK - Global Conferences

Up to £27,000+ Bonuses

My client is an influential community of senior life science decision makers that produces world class content, conferences and events for C-suite executives, investors and pharma deal makers, due to continued expansion they are now looking for a new member of the team as an Operations Manager to be the key liaison between our customers, clients, partners, venues, 3rd party vendors and contractors, ensuring that both client and company requirements are met on the entire event portfolio.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the pre-, during and post-event experience meets the high standards expected of c-level customers.

The role will report directly to the co-CEOs and Finance Director, working closely with the head of marketing, conference production and sales teams and the Head of IR / Networking on a range of repeat flagship events through to stage 1 launches.

The position is best-suited to a result driven individual with strong project management qualities who has a passion for delivering event experiences of an unrivalled nature, within time and budget and who is looking to prove themselves in a more autonomous role than what they are currently undertaking.

Key responsibilities:

  • Key liaison with event venues in sourcing, proposing and contracting suitable spaces to run the portfolio of events
  • Liaison between the Finance Director and venues / 3rd party suppliers to ensure the negotiation of cost-effective prices and best possible rates
  • Budgetary control of venue and 3rd party costings per event
  • Key liaison between event speakers, partners, guests and internal executives, ensuring required levels of communication (verbal and email) both pre-event and onsite
  • Co-ordinate and manage the set-up and production of the events on site, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality event experience
  • Supervise and manage all suppliers and contractors working on event location
  • Ensure a smooth operation throughout each event
  • Logistics management and inventory control of all equipment, materials and any other items needed for each event
  • Relevant office administration duties
