REED Procurement and Supply Chain are delighted to be recruiting for a Buyer on a full-time and permanent basis for our manufacturing client based in Newcastle.
This is a full-time and permanent role working Monday to Thursday 08:00-17:00 with an early finish on a Friday!
The salary on offer is up to £35,000 per annum DOE.
Duties will include;
- Procure materials and equipment required by the company
- Reporting into the Purchasing Manager
- Negotiating the purchasing of materials, equipment and services
- Report any issues with relevant departments
- Process approved requisitions
- Manage supplier performance and monitor any improvements
- Ensure Approved Supplier Listing is maintained
- MRP management to assist with schedule demands
- Identify and implement cost saving areas
Person Specification:
- Experienced in Buying
- CIPS desirable but not essential
- Manufacturing background desirable but not essential
- Confident in negotiation skills
- Must be able to drive
- Adaptable and ambitious in approach
