IT PROCUREMENT MANAGER - £60k-£65k- London - FTSE 250 BLUE CHIP GIANT

This FTSE 250 insurance firm are looking to add to their IT Procurement team with an ambitious procurement professional who can manage the category spend but also inspire stakeholders and those within the IT space to work with and better understand Procurement. The successful candidate will be expected to have experience working across IT subcategories such as data solutions, software and telecoms. This is a chance to work in a diverse, innovative environment with excellent opportunities for career progression from within. Each new hire is valued as a long-term investment.

The role will include:

  • The strategic sourcing of IT category goods and services across the sub-categories such as software, cloud solutions, telecoms and data systems
  • Liaising with stakeholders and IT staff in order to influence and promote the Procurement function and make purchases in line with the company's business goals
  • End to end procurement - negotiation of costs and contracts as well as the tender process
  • Training people in the best practice of IT Procurement
  • Make savings on IT procurement projects
  • UK/EU travel once every 6 months - to stakeholders/clients

Key Skills:

  • Experience working on IT projects with a large spend and effectively managing it
  • Excellent commercial awareness and strategic sourcing abilities
  • Great interpersonal skills - able to influence stakeholders and work with suppliers
  • Highly motivated and very well organised
  • Extensive market knowledge in the IT sub categories such as telecoms, software and data solutions
  • MCIPS/Degree
