Interim Indirects Procurement Manager opportunity. Procurement interim required to lead and manage the development of new logistics and supply chain solutions. Strong commercial acumen, contract management and the ability to create new and innovative procurement solutions is essential. Indirect procurement experience is required and previous experience of logistics and supply chain procurement categories is preferred.

Must be able to demonstrate strong commercial leadership in a change management/transformational environment. Developing new ideas in a greenfield area (no procurement influence historically).

The candidate will be asked to lead category management and strategic sourcing across two key categories and manage a key supplier relationship over a 12 month period. This will involve running business requirements sessions with stakeholders and developing insights from the external market to come up with new business solutions. There will be the requirement to go out to tender, manage negotiations and take contracts through the approval process as well as pursuing in-contract negotiations with incumbent suppliers.

  • Extensive experience – indirect procurement ideally logistics or general outsourcing; FM
  • Stakeholders & developing brand new solutions
  • Transformation projects and new solutions; services background
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of strategic sourcing and/or outsourcing procurement, experience in leading major strategic reviews, managing end to end procurement process and driving a value focused approach.
  • Proactively develop robust strategic sourcing strategies for which deliver breakthrough results and year on year continuous improvement.

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of strategic supplier management and relevant industries.
  • Detailed understanding of relevant categories.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of procurement management techniques as well as management of third party supplier relationships.
  • Experience of complex and business significant categories of expenditure through multiple functions within procurement and supply chain and maximising value to the business including: strategic sourcing and supplier management, category management, general procurement, supply chain, and project management.
  • Demonstrable track record of transformational value delivery through identification and implementation of innovative sourcing strategies, continuous improvement plans and demand management.
  • Understanding of general and contract law.
  • Demonstrable track record of leading complex contract negotiations.
