Due to sustained growth in our apprenticeship and commercial programmes, we are looking to recruit a Bids & Contracts Manager. The role is offered on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £26,459 - £28,921 per annum.

The Chichester College Group is the largest provider of further education in Sussex and is comprised of 3 Colleges: one at Chichester, one at Crawley and one at Brinsbury near Pulborough, which is land-based. Through our Colleges we educate and train around 25,000 full and part time students every year and provide teaching excellence to meet the future needs of the regions' employers.

As our Bids & Contracts Manager you will be responsible for managing our bids and contracts team as well as being hands on in seeking out, writing and monitoring our performance against successful bids and tenders.

Our Bids & Contracts Manager key duties and responsibilities:

- Line manage staff associated with the support and delivery of business winning, contract management and administration services, including conducting the appropriate appraisal review processes

- Manage the operational budget allocated to deliver services required across the team and broader Group

- Provide support to functional leadership in the research of new apprenticeship or commercial opportunities and implementation where demand dictates

- Research and advise on target specific customer sectors; existing and new; to support the development of business propositions to develop new markets or gain market share

- Keep abreast of industry changes; and ensure they are communicated to affected staff. To provide a broad market and industry overview and development of a market intelligence system covering customers, competitors, trends and opportunities

- Ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with relevant and appropraite governance including GDPR and ESFA funding regulations

- Liaise regularly with colleagues to ensure customer needs are communicated effectively and to ensure high levels of customer service

- Liaise with the Group Commercial Manager and Sales Managers to ensure cross selling opportunities between apprenticeship and commercial training solutions are maximised and the sales team are briefed and used to greatest effect

- Ensure that all customer complaints are dealt with promptly and professionally

- Manage the Group bid process and lead the review of potential tender opportunities and the provision of bids to support agreed potential programmes

- Provide bid writing and bid management services for all apprenticeship and commercial bid opportunities under the direction of Group Head: Sales and Commercial

Our Bids & Contracts Manager should have the below skills and experience;

- Experience of working in a management position

- Proven communication and presentation skills

- Be an effective team player and collaborator, as you need to work across our campuses with a range of curriculum experts

- Critically you will be a master wordsmith who has an eye for detail, ultimately ensuring a high success rate for our submissions
