Your new company are a leading manufacturer with multiple UK production facilities and an international customer base.

The company are experiencing significant growth and have been recruiting steadily in their procurement team.

Your new position as Bids & Projects Buyer is a very important role to ensure the business are bidding for and winning profitable tenders.

As Bids & Projects Buyer you will support the sales function in winning new business through accurate cost estimating and the development of concept bill of materials.

You you will be the single point of contact for the project team and will manage procurement requirements across quality, product development, logistics, production and legal.  

Your role will create the bid and procurement strategies and what is very important is having strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure your strategies are moved forwards.

You will evaluate and select suppliers ensuring they have capacity and capability to deliver within your supply chain throughout the project life and you will lead in the planning and delivery of material requirements.

A large part of this role is being able to establish Bill of Materials Costs for key stages of the product production life-cycle and ensure costs stay on budget.

You will work collaboratively with the category buyers to deal with any exceptions or escalations in the day to day purchasing of materials.

To be successful in this role you will have strong leadership experience in Supply Chain Management  and extensive sourcing experience.  You will be able to manage demand external and internal stakeholders and will ideally have experience of multi-site purchasing.

You will have proven experience in an engineering, automotive or other similar manufacturing environment and will be able to read technical drawings.

You will have broad experience with 'Design Intent' and will also be skilled in Cost Estimating.

You will be experienced in project driven procurement environments and developing supply chains to meet the requirements of these projects when contracts awarded to your business.
