The Role

This is a fantastic role, working for an outstanding and ambitious property development and investment Group of companies. To support our expansion we are looking to fill a number of office based roles and have a requirement for an Operations Manager.

As Operations Manager, you will be working in a fast-paced and demanding environment dealing with professional property investment agents, landlords, tenants and management companies, as well as legal professionals. You must be a strong and resilient character who is a confident communicator with the ability to resolve issues effectively within a timely manner, all while delivering exceptional levels of customer service. You must be willing to carry out relevant tasks to contribute towards the success of the business.

This is an opportunity to commence building your own team immediately and into the medium term to serve the wider Group as it expands and become a key part of the Group's central operations.

Job Description (including but not limited to):

The role involves:

  • Operationally, become the eyes and ears for the Director within the office;
  • Manage the day to day operations of the Group and ensure processes are implemented and re-developed (where necessary) in order to improve efficiency;
  • Lead and oversee and co-ordinate our Property Management division's relationship with investors and appointed management companies as well as other stakeholders;
  • Responsibility for dealing with the sales progression function of the business to drive revenue by ensuring all agents' clients exchange contracts within deadlines and providing excellent customer service whilst dealing with relevant legal teams as relevant;
  • Organisation of all HQ office functions - filing, IT, utilities, stationery and customer service desk;
  • Take a pro-active approach when consulting with senior members of the Group;
  • Mentor and advise other colleagues in operational and property management related matters;
  • Updating weekly & monthly progress reports and reporting to the Managing Director of the Group
  • Support recruitment and selection activities and take responsibility for preparing documents to support appointments and inductions;
  • Co-ordinate learning and development activities including staff reviews, booking training and evaluating effectiveness;
  • Interface with invoicing and accounts functions.

Essential Skills:

This position is ideally suited to an already established office manager used to working in a dynamic financial environmnet, or an experienced sales progression professional or property manager. Ambitious, with exceptional organisational skills and able to think on their feet you must have:

  • Minimum 5 years management or relevant experience (as above) and 1 years operations management experience;
  • Polished and professional demeanour with excellent communication and organisation skills and be able to work to deadlines;
  • A willingness to 'get involved on critical tasks' that aren't being delivered;
  • The ability to work on own as well as taking direction from others but most importantly to manage their time effectively;
  • Knowledge of Landlord & Tenant Acts and Housing Acts would be an advantage;
  • Excellent telephone manner;
  • Good knowledge and experience using the MS Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Have a passion for property management and / or property in general;
  • Be keen to work in an office environment and be a part of a busy team.
  • Exhibiting self-motivation and a proactive approach to all duties under this role.
