The Company
Our Client is a specialist Engineering Company. Due to expansion they require a purchasing assistant.
The Role
- The role sits within the purchasing department and will offer full assistance to the purchasing function.
- Reviewing, verifying and placing all direct and non-inventory purchase orders to relevant suppliers.
- Expediting all open purchase orders.
- Monitoring and tracking of all orders.
- Ensuring all orders receive acknowledgements and order updates.
- Liaising with Production Control to ensure all purchase orders are received on time in full.
- Updating the web based tracker with up-to-date delivery information.
- Sending daily open order reports to suppliers.
- Contacting suppliers to ensure the needs of customers are met.
- Scheduling and monitoring all imports.
- Dealing with invoice queries.
The Person
- Experience of working within a purchasing role in a manufacturing organisation
- Experience in expediting and processing of purchase orders
- Experience of providing statistical analysis
- Organised with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to prioritise and plan workload, ensuring the needs of the customer are always put first
- Ability to work accurately under pressure
- Committed to providing high levels of customer service
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results to a high level of quality
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude
