The Company

Our Client is a specialist Engineering Company. Due to expansion they require a purchasing assistant.

The Role

  • The role sits within the purchasing department and will offer full assistance to the purchasing function.
  • Reviewing, verifying and placing all direct and non-inventory purchase orders to relevant suppliers.
  • Expediting all open purchase orders.
  • Monitoring and tracking of all orders.
  • Ensuring all orders receive acknowledgements and order updates.
  • Liaising with Production Control to ensure all purchase orders are received on time in full.
  • Updating the web based tracker with up-to-date delivery information.
  • Sending daily open order reports to suppliers.
  • Contacting suppliers to ensure the needs of customers are met.
  • Scheduling and monitoring all imports.
  • Dealing with invoice queries.

The Person

  • Experience of working within a purchasing role in a manufacturing organisation
  • Experience in expediting and processing of purchase orders
  • Experience of providing statistical analysis
  • Organised with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to prioritise and plan workload, ensuring the needs of the customer are always put first
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Committed to providing high levels of customer service
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results to a high level of quality
  • Self-motivated with a proactive attitude
