Hours: Full time

Contract: Permanent

Due to exciting rapid business growth and increased commercial activity the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) are seeking a Commercial Manager to support the delivery of an expansive and challenging programme of commercial transformation.

Reporting to a Senior Commercial Manager, you will be a part of a small but busy commercial team, delivering procurement and contract management functions across the CMA. This will involve providing support to the placement and management of contracts across a variety of spend categories, including People Services, Technology, Corporate, Buildings and Market Research. It is an exciting opportunity to shape commercial business in the CMA and deliver marketplace insight and expertise.

The role will involve contributing to the development of sourcing and procurement strategies in line with Government Commercial Function professional standards and the management of key suppliers, providing an end to end commercial perspective. You will also support the management of CMA’s key operational relationships, securing continuous improvement and cost reduction whilst minimising operational risk.

You will need to beeither professionally qualified (MCIPS) or actively working to achieve such a qualification, with good knowledge and experience of commercial contracting and supplier management in relevant areas. Experience in delivering commercial strategies that are able to meet business needs at reduced costs and operational risk is also essential.

The CMA prides itself on being a great place to work and strives to ensure that staff have the opportunity to grow and expand their skills portfolio. As well as being a hugely rewarding and stimulating place to work, you will have an opportunity to work for the public good whilst stretching and developing yourself in doing so.

We offer generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, our employee well-being programme and favourable consideration of flexible working.
