A newly created Buyer opportunity responsible for indirect categories and services with a global automotive company, this is due to their continued success and expansion where you can really make an impact and difference… 

In this Buyer role you will be responsible for providing procurement support for both services and products for the head office function. The successful Buyer will be managing and assisting with tenders, RFQ, SOW and ITT’s, so you will need a broad range of purchasing experience; and will need to demonstrate an understanding of the tendering and RFQ process as well as excellent stakeholder management skills. 

You will be working in a close knit and highly successful team, so you will need to be an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to complement their current activities/success. You will be confident, proactive and forward thinking, with a track record of managing suppliers by KPIs, and your ability to influence and build productive relationships will be invaluable.

Key Responsibilities of the Buyer will include: 

  • Procurement support on every aspect of the buying process including services such as marketing and advertising, travel, print, stationery etc.

  • Managing or assisting with the tender process, including

  • Liaising with internal clients re budgets and statement of works

  • Compiling all information relating to tender suppliers

  • Supplier presentations including site visits

  • All administration for tender process and documents

  • Manage supplier performance reviews (involving internal clients and suppliers)

  • Liaise with legal teams regarding contract negotiations

  • Identifying cost savings

  • Gathering data and providing creative useful reporting 


  • Purchasing experience for both products and services

  • Demonstrable experience of tender processes

  • Ability to understand, scope and draft requirements

  • Credible negotiator with a proven track record of supplier negotiation experience

  • Experience of driving costs savings

  • Confident in resolving queries and anomalies, with detailed problem-solving skills

  • Ability to build strong and credible relationships within the business and fellow employees

  • Ability to work unsupervised and set your own priorities whilst focusing on business needs

  • Personable and able to build valuable relationships quickly

  • Excellent time management skills 

Further information:  

  • Salary range between £35,000 and £40,000 depending on experience
