The Donkey Sanctuary is one of the UK’s largest international animal welfare charities, currently supporting projects in over 35 countries worldwide. We are working for a world where donkeys and mules live free from suffering, and their contribution to humanity is fully valued.

We now have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and self-starting professional to lead our Procurement team. With a professional procurement background, and a demonstrable record of championing procurement and supply best practice, you will provide professional guidance and support to Executives and Senior Managers in all aspects of the procurement cycle, ensuring the Charity achieves the best value for money in sourcing its goods and services across all categories of operational and capital expenditure within the Charity and its subsidiaries.

Contributing to the development of the procurement strategy for the charity, you will promote equal, fair and transparent procurement practices, placing value in sustainable, and ethical supplier selection. You will be accountable for procurement policies and processes across the Charity and train others, ensuring consistent and cohesive practice across all departments, encouraging and developing strategic supplier relationships to reduce costs, mitigate risks and add value. An MCIPS Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply (or equivalent), together with a proven track record in managing an annual expenditure of circa £10m across diverse categories in a multi-site organisation, is essential, as are demonstrable experience in all aspects of leadership, staff management and development, and excellent communication, analytical, collaboration and negotiation skills.
