We have an exciting opportunity for two Procurement Specialists to further the success of the City & Guilds Group by supporting our central Procurement team.

About the Role

This is a permanent role within our Group Legal department, and you will be reporting to the Group Procurement Manager. This role involves adhering to the Group Policy on the procurement of goods and services to ensure optimum cost, quality and efficiency through close collaboration with stakeholders.

A key role in embedding a robust auditable, transparent procurement governance model which ensures that analysis, process and procedures support the need to source, select, manage and deliver value for the diverse range of goods and services required by the City and Guilds Group.

As a Group Procurement Specialist, you will provide guidance and advice as well as practical support on high value and high risk procurements to senior managers. This may involve helping the business to define needs and requirements; leading benchmarking exercises and competitive tenders or helping to draft contract management plans. Additionally, there will be opportunities to assist the business in formulating strategic sourcing strategies by marrying data analysis on spending with sourcing expertise.

About you

We want to hear from candidates with demonstrable experience as you will have oversight of £3-5 million over a financial year, leading and negotiating tenders worth over £100K+.

You’ll have strong skills in numeracy as well as analytics and problem solving skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good knowledge of other office applications and tools.

As a Group Procurement Specialist, you will have:

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with an ability to present, influence and persuade
  • Strong networking skills, able to build rapport easily
  • Ability to challenge senior managers if and when needed as well as influence them to make key decisions

Highly desirable skills:

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of SAP
  • Project management experience
  • Supply base analysis skills
  • Tenacious personality
