Main purpose of the Procurement Analyst role:

  • The Procurement Senior Sourcing Analyst is a key role within the Procurement team. Taking ownership of key Procurement projects, supporting Senior Business Stakeholders and Project Teams, bringing knowledge, management and analysis skills, to aid business as usual and specific projects

  • This role will also lead and support on Procurement sourcing projects on a as required basis in order to support the Procurement Team, i.e. RFI, RFP’s, analysis, benchmarking

  • You will have a good working knowledge of Procurement and will have previously built relationships with relevant senior business stakeholders. You work collaboratively and flexibly within multidisciplinary delivery teams

  • This role will help support the function to roll out best practices identified across the different Categories and to monitor the adherence to the agreed methodologies, processes and tools

  • In addition, the role holder supports the Procurement Managers to perform analyses required to build the full financial picture for RFP and other sourcing projects

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Ownership, delivery and management of all key on going projects including:

    • Management and reporting of UK spend;

    • Management and reporting of Travel spend;

    • Identification and on going reporting of all of US  spend;

    • PSL Compliance reporting;

    • Development, delivery and reporting of supplier risk strategy;

    • Development and delivery of Procurements Communication Strategy to senior internal stakeholders, internal departments and external suppliers, including SRM Programs; 

  • Provide strong business analysis, throughout the project lifecycle, including the following:

    • Collect, understand, prioritise and communicate the business requirements for products and projects;

    • Translate requirements into written specifications and acceptance criteria;

    • Provide technical and business solution design expertise in terms of interface / integration, business process, data mapping and migration support;

    • Create vendor solution evaluation criteria and provide balanced scorecard vendor assessment analysis;

    • Analyse and document as-is and to-be business processes, in order to appropriately preserve existing or model new workflow;

    • Manage change in relation to the specified requirements, including assessment of impact, communication, and supporting planning and prioritisation as appropriate:

    • Carry out analysis to enable business process change transformation and continuous improvement;

    • Develop target operating models and support in the creation of the transition / implementation plans;

    • Gather, analyse, and report usage data in support of measuring the performance of projects and products delivered.

    • Builds relationships with peer level and senior stakeholders to build credibility and trust.

    • Takes a sole lead or supporting Senior Business Analysis role on business transformation projects.

    • Supports Procurement Managers in developing a knowledge base of core domain level structures, value chains, processes and systems.

    • Works collaboratively with other business analysts through buddying and teaming.

    • Has a contributor role in building the capability of the Procurement team.

Experience required:

  • Advanced Excel, P2P system (Oracle)

  • Good ability to build relationships with peer and senior level business stakeholders

  • Understands the end to end project lifecycle

  • Capable in systematic exploration and evaluation of problems

  • Strong in planning an efficient course of action for self

  • Able to prioritise and plans activities for self

  • Sound understanding of the importance of business value analysis in the role

  • Awareness of the concept of Key Performance Indicators
