This is a new full-time role. You will provide analytical support and expertise through the provision of management information to the Purchasing department and all internal customers to enable them to determine business strategy and, by leveraging competitive advantage with suppliers, ensure the client achieves the best value for money.  In addition, you will work with members of the Purchasing Department to identify opportunities to enhance value for money and, through collaborative interaction, encourage departments to comply with purchasing guidelines and strategies. You will also lead the data classification project.

Procurement Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Perform and develop various analysis

  • To lead the department’s purchasing data classification project

  • To design and deliver management information

  • Supplier performance measurement

  • Liaise between end users, external vendors, and UPD personnel to interpret financial data

Essential Procurement Analyst Skills/Experience required:

  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to work under pressure, and to plan, prioritise and organize work to meet key deadlines

  • Demonstrable experience of change processes, with a clear understanding of the role of and need for high-quality financial management reporting

  • Ability to identify business needs and to assist in the development of efficient and effective solutions

  • Proven teamwork skills, especially in communicating with users holding a wide range of financial skills and working with people at all levels in the organization

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and to be able to communicate across all levels

  • Have a flexible, organised and committed approach to their work

Desirable Skills/Experience Required:

  • Experience of using any of the following tools: MS Access, Tableau

  • Experience of working in a higher education, or related, environment

  • Procurement experience and specifically in category management
