Procurement Leader – Supplier Performance & Improvement

Would you thrive in a busy supply chain environment focusing on supplier intelligence, risk and performance improvement? We currently have a vacancy for a Procurement Leader at our site in Barrow.

As a Procurement Leader, you will be tasked with leading the analysis of supplier performance data and facilitate the implementation of improvement activities as required. You will gain the opportunity to lead projects and regularly report progress to a number of key stakeholders.

This role will provide you with the opportunity of working within the exciting submarines division of the business allows fantastic exposure to a wide range of stakeholders and provide the chance to make a positive difference on the whole boat programme along with playing a key role in the success of the business.

Your main responsibilities as a Procurement Leader will involve: 

Understanding performance areas of the submarine supply chain (safety, quality, cost delivery and people)

Using data techniques to define improvement opportunity using SMART (specific, measureable, achievable, realistic and time bound) actions

Leading supplier improvement activity using good practice standard methods ensuring that progress is regularly reported to stakeholders

Working within, facilitating and leading projects involving multifunctional teams, focused on delivering supplier improvements

Demonstrating tangible improvements in performance through effective data analysis

Your skills and qualifications:

Ability to lead and facilitate continuous improvement activity initiatives using cross functional teams – leading a project plan (understanding of the area would be beneficial)

A logical and ordered approach to analysing data & drawing conclusions

Excellent communication, networking, stakeholder management and effective presentation delivery skills

Knowledge of supplier management and improvement tools and techniques

An understanding of supply chain (procurement) as well as the environment and challenges that it operates within

Understanding of project and change management

You will be able to demonstrate a sound commercial background and be approachable to other team members. You will also have good stakeholder relationship skills.

Maritime – Submarines
