One in six people in the UK will have a disability in their lifetime and we want to make sure they have the opportunity to live their lives to their full potential.
We are the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of services for disabled people. These include high-quality care and community support together with innovative projects supporting disabled people into education, employment and entrepreneurship. In 2017 we launched our new strategy to radically improve the life choices of people with disabilities, articulating our aim to support journeys towards independence.
In this role, as a member of our Procurement Team of 4 and reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will manage multiple categories, taking an organisation wide view to delivering savings and value through developing strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. In conjunction with the wider business and with local procurement needs, you will develop strategies to,deliver the best value for money in every supplier agreement.
Our procurement spend is circa £60m per annum. You will work with budget holders and LCD Services to develop clear category plans and sourcing strategies, build business cases, negotiate terms, tender spend areas and award contracts.
If you have full membership (or are actively working towards it) of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply, you will be excited by this opportunity to operate at scale, bringing your demonstrable experience of applying strategic procurement and formal category management practices in an environment of continuous change and improvement to make a real difference to people’s lives.
You will have excellent project management, communication and negotiation skills and will be strongly analytical with a measured approach to problem solving. If you share the values and ethos of LCD, we look forward to hearing from you.
Leonard Cheshire Disability welcomes applicants from all sections of the community.
