Head of Operational Liquidity Management

A large and well recognised investment bank is now looking for a Head of Operational Liquidity Management to join the Treasury team and play a key and senior role in Liquidity decision making. This is a newly created roles and requires someone with strong knowledge of Liquidity products and Liquidity management.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Leading a team of talented and self-motivated individuals
  • Understanding and analysing daily movements in cash balances, internal liquidity stress test metrics and regulatory liquidity metrics such as LCR across multiple key currencies
  • Drive tactical funding decision-making across Treasury and businesses
  • Summarising and explaining liquidity movements to senior management and responding to queries
  • Building key relationships with businesses, cash operations groups, Treasury Markets Pool and other key stakeholders to understand liquidity drivers
  • Establishing and improving processes to track and explain liquidity movements
  • In periods of tight liquidity, instructing and taking action to improve the liquidity situation within defined target metrics and risk appetites
  • Contributing ideas and making proposals on the redesign of the internal liquidity and funding models and frameworks
  • Working closely with other major Treasury hubs in the United States (US), Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia and Pacific (APAC) to ensure global coverage and understanding of cash and liquidity movements

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in liquidity management at an investment bank
  • Experience in balance sheet or asset & liability management (or equivalent track record) within a business or infrastructure function in a banking environment
  • Good understanding of banking business and liquidity models
  • Experience in building relationships with senior business and infrastructure managers
  • Excellent communication, presentation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to logically analyse and connect different facts quickly
  • A history of taking initiative, being pro-active and ability to work independently
  • Experience in leading a team of talented and self-motivated individuals
  • Educated to Bachelor's degree level in a relevant financial discipline or equivalent qualification / work experience
