Position Summary:

A Sourcing Manager is responsible for the execution of the Purchasing strategy into a region and/or location.  Coordinates the local purchasing teams and through collaboration with the Global Category Managers and Operations, assures execution and implementation of cost reduction initiatives, working capital improvement plans and support of the operations locations to improve velocity and reduce lead times.  They are responsible to achieve the QCD target for the suppliers used in the area for a defined site or several sites

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Directly manages the local purchasing team(s) for a given business unit or location and “dotted line” management of the category management team that may be located at their site
  2. Strong experience in supply Chain rationalization / Supplier changes into a serial production activities
  3. Drives synergies and cost reductions through identification, analysis, prioritizing, planning, allocation of projects and resources for the successful implementation of key projects, new products, make vs buy, VA/VE, Standardization and key partnership initiatives, working capital improvement activities and lead time reduction initiatives.
  4. Participate to the definition of Medium and Long term strategy on Categories (Fabrication, C Class, Electronic, Fluid, etc…) understanding the strategy of the site and being that locations advocate on the sourcing team.
  5. Acts as the liaison between supply chain and operations for the area of their responsibility
  6. Assigns special projects to Global and Regional Commodity Managers with concurrence of Supply Chain Management
  7. Is responsible of the achievement of the Area (for a given BU) Budget in relation with the Global Category Manager for the QCD
  8. Ensures the setup of the ERP system to be sure that all orders are correctly processed
  9. Participate in the development of Purchasing best practice and check of its good application
  10. Set up a monitoring for Suppliers QCD and sub function in coordination with other departments (Procurement, Quality and Engineering)
  11. As a key member of the Site Leadership Team, contribute to the development of strategy for the business, promote teamwork across all functions and demonstrate leadership qualities consistent with the values of the organization.
  12. Work with operations, category management and business teams to design and implement optimal source points and shipping arrangements.
  13. Operates on a daily basis to meet reliability and delivery objectives for customer supply.
  14. Works with the operations team to maximize value across the supply chain and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Candidate Experience and Qualification:

  • Bachelor degree in a related discipline engineering, Supply Chain or Procurement. 
  • 10 years of proven sourcing experience within High Volume, Mass Production environments.
  • The role requires at least a minimum of 5 years in a Leadership management role managing a team.
  • 2 to 3 years of proven global sourcing activities and working with overseas and domestic suppliers.
  • Preferred multi-lingual
  • Professional certification a plus
  • Plant supply chain experience a plus.
  • Experience in working with USA / Brazil / India and China
  • Experienced in a World Wide group with associated reporting to the headquarter.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Ability to sit for extended  periods of time (long international flights)
  • Ability to work in excess of 8 hours per day
  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel as necessary daily
  • Ability to effectively/clearly communicate
