Due to continued growth my client an award-winning family owned Engineering business in Cirencester is recruiting a Buyer to support their Engineering team.

The right candidate will be a driven individual that can help with the development of the business. You must have good communication skills with a good understanding of purchasing techniques with good negotiation skills. You will be required to manage supplier’s performance and reduce costs as required. You will also be required to be the interface between the supplier and the planning/production teams to make sure maximum production efficiency is maintained.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Management of all materials on ERP system (cat codes, types and setup)
  • Purchasing and expediting of all Materials, Subcon and Consumables
  • Work with production planner to expedite material and sub contract demands as per manufacturing requirement
  • Attend morning production meeting to relay outstanding purchasing requirements.
  • Management of suppliers (materials and subcon) to include performance, reviews
  • Develop long term agreements with suppliers to reduce cost and stock.
  • Negotiate best commercial deal on all purchased products.
  • Management of material inventory.
  • Responsible for all material stock on both sites to include, location and storage, Stock take and Replenishment
  • Management of purchased items relative to limited stock holding.
  • Supervise Material Controllers across both sites ensuring that:

All goods in are received accurately and materials moved to correct location

Management of customer finished stock (replenishment and storage)

  • Work to ISO9001 quality system

The right candidate will have the following experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years working as a Buyer within Engineering
  • Ideally experience of working within a sub contract environment

In return:

  • Salary between £25k - £30k dependant on experience
  • Overtime paid at premium.

  • 39 hour week. 7.30am - 4.30pm finish 12.30pm on Fridays.
