A bit about us.

At Butternut, we put the food back into dog food. We believe dogs deserve to eat the healthiest, most natural food with none of the nasties. That’s why we make freshly prepared dog food. Cooked like you would at home. Delivered in perfect portions.

We have come a long way since our co-founders (Kevin & David) hand-delivered the first Butternut Box. We are on a mission to feed even more dogs in the UK, and creating a robust and scalable supply chain have a vital part to play in this. That’s where you come in.

Who we are looking for.

We are feeding more and more dogs and we need an ambitious, hard-working Supply Planner to join the Butternut team. Will be responsible for planning the production of our drool-worthy meals (dogs will love you).

The bones of the role will be the management of the Pet Food Kitchen (our production facility). With exciting challenges and opportunities as we grow, we are sure it will make your (imaginary) tail wag.

Your role will be broken down into three essential parts:

  • Planning volumes for weekly production - meeting stock cover targets, to ensure all our hungry Butternutters are always fed.
  • Stock management of raw materials and packaging - always enough, never too much.
  • Reporting working closely with internal teams to keep them up to speed with PFK including Finance, NPD and Customer Love

More, you say? You’ll also have the opportunity to work across the wider business creating contingency plans for our supply and production and running continuous improvement projects.

The business is growing faster than a tail wag on a summers day, and this is a new role to the team and likely to be a dynamic one. You’ll need to have, great attention to detail, a pro-active attitude, love problem solving and want to join the UK’s fastest growing food start-up.

A bit about the role.

You will report into our Head of Supply Chain and will work closely with the wider ops team. The main focus of this role is working with our supply partner. You will be primarily London based but will travel at least once a month.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Own and be accountable for the production planning of Butternut
  • Careful stock management to ensure we meet our minimum stockholding but don’t hold excess inventory
  • Project manage and own continuous improvement projects
  • Reporting on key production measures including month end stock counts to our Finance team
  • Work cross-functionally with the wider operations team to ensure the smooth running of supply
  • Analyse and implement KPI data to drive positive change within the supply chain
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external

 A bit about you:

  • 1-2 years of experience in Supply Chain
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Confident and competent in excel
  • Organised with keen attention to detail
  • Skill for relationship building with external suppliers
  • Strong communication skills
  • Loves problem-solving
  • Proactive and able to work autonomously
  • Creative with an open-minded approach, hungry to learn and always looking to improve
  • Must love dogs (it would be weird if you didn’t, right?)

What we can offer.

  • Competitive salary & new company laptop
  • 24 days holiday per year (pro-rated)
  • Co-working office space
  • Weekly ‘lunch & learns’
  • Friday beers, monthly socials and quarterly offsite events
  • Office Dogs (Bella, Chambo and Coco)

We have big plans to grow so it is an exciting time to be joining Butternut. You will have the opportunity to support leadership in making key data-driven decisions to grow the business. This role is for someone who is hungry for the challenge.

We aim to respond to all applicants personally, however, due to the high volume of applications we receive we are sometimes unable to respond to everyone.

Butternut Box is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity and inclusion. We welcome people of different nationalities, backgrounds, experiences, abilities and perspectives.
