Buyer (Maternity Cover) required for established engineering company based in Ipswich. The successful candidate will be pro-actively managing the supply chain ensuring suppliers and subcontractors deliver products and services in accordance with the company’s requirements.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the existing supply chain, using the company’s MRP system to place new purchase orders.
  • Developing professional supply relationships to continuously improve cost, quality and continuity of supply.
  • Expediting deliveries from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure promised shipment dates are met.

Applicants must have previous experience of purchasing/supply chain management, ideally within engineering and strong IT skills. This is an excellent opportunity to join a prestigious company and work as part of a tight knit team to continue the growth and success of the business. This is a 9 - 12 month contract due to commence beginning of June 2019 for handover.
