An established manufacturing business who specialise in the design, development and production of bespoke retail products are looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager for their site in Thetford.

This growing business are about to embark on an exciting period of change, which includes a new website, refurbished office and re-branding. The goal of which is to align the wider business with a series of new visions and values, driving growth and development across the company.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will become a key member of the Senior Management team, taking full responsibility of the production and manufacturing process, including but not limited to:

  • Management of production scheduling
  • Driving productivity improvements
  • Managing waste & cost control
  • Implementation of key performance indicators
  • Quality control measures
  • Development and leadership of various teams, looking at improvements where possible
  • Develop new ways to streamline & improve manufacturing & production processes
  • Introduction of Automated Capacity Planning
  • Work with the Senior team to achieve growth & profit goals through adopting the company vision and strategy plan
  • Development of the businesses culture

In order for your application to be considered, you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Proven background in a senior operational position, from within a manufacturing/production business
  • LEAN & Kaizen skills, having implemented improvement processes
  • Previous experience working within the wood machining or furniture manufacturing industries
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Commercial and analytically focused, able to think outside the box
  • Confident working under pressure
  • Degree educated, preferably in Engineering, Production or Manufacturing
