Position: Procurement Specialist

Location: Based in Sidmouth, Devon - "an area of outstanding natural beauty"

Salary: £33,500 - £37,000 per annum

Duration: There are two contracts available - Permanent full-time or 12 months’ maternity cover contract

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 08.30 - 16.30

This increases by one day each year until a maximum of 34 days is reached.

The Role

The Procurement Department works to ensure that the Charity makes the best use of its resources by seeking value for money on ethical and sustainable third party spend, offering strategic advice and guidance on purchasing and supply issues, managing supply risk and providing operational support.

About You

Possessing excellent project management skills and experience of category management and of managing the end-to-end procurement cycle, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of all procurement activity within the category area that you are aligned to.

The ability to think strategically within the context of the organisation’s broad objectives, together with an awareness and understanding of the organisation’s strengths, opportunities and internal and external challenges, including those associated with supply markets, is essential.

The post holder will be expected to either hold, or be working towards the achievement of, a Level 4 CIPS qualification, or be willing to do so. Previous experience of working in large and complex or international organisations, and of operating in a change/transformation environment, would be an advantage.
