Business Systems Analyst - Supply-Chain / Manufacturing



Modis are recruiting for a Business Systems Analyst to work for a complex, enterprise level, global organisation, based in Manchester. As a Business Systems Analyst you would be responsible for supporting software projects from initial conception, through design and build, to delivery. This is technical position but you'll work closely with a global team of technical specialists - this team are the glue that sticks the business and the wider technical teams/projects together.

These projects can be across a variety of departments including IT, Finance, Operations, HR etc so a broad range of previous experience would be beneficial. You must be able to develop and maintain good relationships with internal/external contacts and employees at all levels across the business.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the projects team and key stakeholders to assist with the creation of project documentation
  • Creation of Requirements Specification documents for new projects, developed in collaboration with the Project Sponsor and with full consultation across impacted business areas.
  • Securing the sign-off of Requirements Specifications by the various stakeholders
  • Ensuring Change Request processes are followed to approve any changes to the documentation
  • Provide supporting activities to departments during the implementation of the project, ensuring that requirements are understood by the delivery teams and giving any necessary clarification




Skills / Experience Required:
  • Previous/current experience in a large, enterprise level organisation - ideally Supply-Chain, Manufacturing or Distribution sector
  • Experience in a range of analysis and requirement gathering techniques
  • An understanding of how the business model impacts project requirements
  • Experience in the creation & review of requirements documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels of the business.
  • Strong negotiation skills and an ability to traverse difficult conversations relating to project scope and priority




Exposure/Skills Required :
  • Supply chain specific applications and processes
    • Order Management, Pricing, Warehouse Management, Inventory
  • Exposure to the manufacturing and/or distribution sector
  • Oracle databases
  • ERP
  • SQL and/or PL/SQL
