Candidate Hub are actively recruiting for an Occupational Therapy Operational Manager on behalf of our client, a well-established Mental Health Clinic based in Exeter. The role is on a permanent basis and offers immediate start where applicable. The role will be full time (37.5 hrs), with at least 5 years' experience needed in an inpatient setting. Requirements: * To manage and develop our inpatient Occupational Therapy service including linking to vocational rehabilitation and our community forensic discharge team. * To lead and supervise the inpatient Occupational Therapy team. * To keep up-to-date with contemporary issues in children's social work including legislation, evidence-based practice and to attend relevant training and development opportunities. * To liaise with colleagues in own, other directorates and external agencies in order to gather information relevant to assessment and care planning activities, jointly plan and deliver interventions. * To be aware of budgetary limits - To work within parameters agreed with the responsible Team Manager, for specific pieces of work. * Car driver with use of a car. * Prepared to work outside office hours to respond to specific service requirements. Experience: * Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy * Evidence of continued professional development * European computer driving licence/similar qualification or level of experience * Clinical practice educator for student placements * Highly developed knowledge of theory and practice of Occupational Therapy with people with a diagnosis of mental illness * Significant specialised experience working with people with severe/complex mental health needs and additional sensory/health needs * An understanding of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working across health and social care and with voluntary and independent sector * Ability to use a range of communication skills to communicate effectively with clients and carers who may be distressed or have limited communication skills * Experience in the application of Occupational Therapy models to service users with complex needs * Significant experience of supervising and managing Occupational Therapy staff * Ability to manage a complex caseload and competing priorities * Experience in managing a complex caseload * Sufficient level of health and general fitness * Able to carry out moving and handling procedures * A *Standard / Enhanced CRB Check will be required for this role The package: * Salary: £37,570 - £43,772 (Band 7) * 41 days of paid leave per year, depending on length of service, includes bank holidays. * Generous pension scheme * Incremental pay progression * Commitment to career development - wide range of leadership development opportunities * Commitment to flexible working * Childcare vouchers * Refer a friend, and both earn £500 on selected roles
