We are currently working on behalf of our client who are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take control of all warehouse and production operational activities.  You will be a strong and inspirational leader who will optimise team performance by training, motivating and encouraging teamworking.   You will improve efficiency by introducing better methods, planning and time management to result in a faster pace and fewer errors.  We are looking for a strategic thinker who has excellent attention to detail and is also happy to be hands on.

The position is full-time, hours 7.00 – 17.00, the salary is between £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience, the company offers car parking, pension and 20 days holiday rising to 25 after the first year of service. 

    Responsibilities include:

  • Attend meeting with Customer Service Team to agree operational priorities
  • Plan and review work of Warehouse and production staff to ensure they are working efficiently and at maximum output
  • Ensure that the production department has a continuous flow of work in priority order
  • Run Order Fulfil to release all complete orders for picking at least every two hours
  • Ensure Pick Screen is clear at the end of every day
  • Assist team in all practical operations as needed, including picking for production, picking and packing for despatch
  • Review performance of logistical partners and ensure that efficient and cost-effective procedures are followed
  • Report regularly to management on all operational issues and performance, including attending operations meeting.
  • Ensure that best practices are followed in all operations including goods in, storage, production and despatch
  • Review reports prepared by warehouse staff on output, volumes, failures and any supplier and carrier issues
  • Take responsibility for all site health, safety and environmental issues in line with policies and risk assessments drawn up by others
  • Ensure that site including grounds and premises are effectively maintained and all plant, security and electrical equipment monitored to ensure it remains operationally effective.

    You will have previous proven experience and be a strong people manager.  You will think both strategically and operationally to improve efficiencies, output     and cost saving for the business.
