I am recruiting a purchasing manager for a leading manufacturer / distributor in Coventry. Salary is up to £42,000 on a permanent basis.

ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

- Working closely with operational department leaders to create and maintain efficient physical stock monitoring and storage systems. To provide clear visibility of on hand stock levels and enable quick, but accurate stocktakes.
- To set, monitor and adjust minimum/maximum stock levels, as required.
- Working with Technical and Operation departments to define goods in checks for all items, and put checks in place to ensure they are followed.
- Develop KPI reporting to measure internal and external performance. i.e. to identify trends, stockturns, DOTIF, items close to minimum stock levels, items over maximum stock levels, etc.
- Analysis reports to identify areas for improvement. Then develop and implement procurement solutions.
- Monitor our supplier list to ensure the number is kept to a minimum, and to help improve our buying power.
- Perform supplier reviews. This will be a combination of face to face meetings with suppliers, to discuss their performance and negotiate prices, as well as desktop reviews.
- Manage and maintain a positive, effective relationship with our supplier network.
- Monitor and maintain our requisition system to ensure it is being used correctly.
- Manage the Purchase Order systems to ensure AX is kept up-to-date, with any old orders/remaining balances being chased up or cancelled, as required.
- Ensure that goods are being delivered in the most costs effective way. Whether this is delivered by the suppler, a third party or collected by our Transport.
- Ensure that the procurement procedures met with ISO:9001 and ISO:14001 requirements.
- Ensure that procedures and SOPs are documented and kept up-to-date.
