Our client is global, specialist manufacturer and due to continued success, a new Buyer is required to join an established Supply Chain team, which is currently at 6.
The Position:
We're looking for an experienced Buyer who will develop and deliver commodity strategies to ensure cost, delivery and quality targets are met with suppliers capable of meeting growing demand. The Buyer will have a clear focus in supply chain management.
The salary offered is in the region of £33,000 depending on experience
- Hours are Monday - Friday 8.30am 5pm
- 26 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays

Requirements:
- Experience with procurement and purchasing techniques
- Ideally, degree qualified in a business, supply chain or a similar discipline
- Confident with using Microsoft Office including Excel Word and PowerPoint
- MRP/ERP practical knowledge
- Effective negotiation and communication skills
- A full driving license is essential
Responsibilities:
- Performance measure and develop suppliers and lead regular review meeting both in the UK and overseas
- Competitively source new parts and support new product introduction and development
- Forging successful relationships with various internal departments
- Negotiate with suppliers
- Drive cost reduction activities
