Responsibility for the production, approval and delivery of Category Strategy across an assigned area of spend worth upwards of £70m.

Description
- External Environment - Undertake in-depth market analysis to inform both Category and Sourcing Strategies that drive continuous improvement and realise opportunities for innovation
- In consultation with internal stakeholders, develop and deliver the Category Strategy for the area of responsibility, providing solutions that address supply chain and contractual risk on behalf the business
- Technology - Exploit the SAP/Ariba and Microsoft platforms, applying appropriate sourcing and analytical tools as required and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Spend Management - Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to inform historic expenditure, off contract
- Contracting - Identify appropriate contract models and draft complex contractual agreements that safeguard the business, whilst ensuring adherence to EU Procurement Law.
- Develop negotiation plans and lead on complex commercial negotiations
- Sourcing - Develop and deliver individual sourcing projects that provide financial benefit, risk mitigation and process efficiency through the application of whole life costing principles
- Manage and maintain all key sourcing and business unit reporting obligations as required
- Delivering Outcomes - Challenge 'business as usual' and prepare cases for the more effective use of existing and new supply chains
- Prepare and seek approval of sourcing and contract recommendations up to Board level
- Metrics & Measurement - Consistently deliver against agreed sourcing metrics and ensure that the team contribution to the departmental balanced scorecard is understood and effectively communicated
- Ethics - Ensure that economic, environmental and ethical risks are assessed and appropriately mitigated/managed across the supply chain and throughout the sourcing and contract lifecycle
