This role of Senior Buyer (materials) has been created to support further growth and process improvements within the procurement team.
Description
The responsibilities of the role of Senior Buyer (materials) will include the following:
- Managing a purchasing portfolio c£10-60M+ (depending on no of suppliers, SKU's, profit impact)
- Improving material delivery to production through vendor management
- Negotiating effective commercial terms with suppliers
- Understanding the product category (end to end supply)
- Improving relationships with suppliers and internal customers
- Becoming the key interface between the external supply chain and business
Profile
The successful candidate for this role of Senior Buyer (materials) will be looking for a challenging position that they can make their own.
- Experience working within an engineering environment (a rough understanding of drawings)
- Preferable (but not essential) CIPS or similar qualification
- Minimum 3 years Purchasing and/or Supply chain experience
- Effective communicator with examples of strong stakeholder engagement and management
- Strong analytic and influencing skills
