My client who are based on the outskirts of Blackburn are looking to recruit a Purchasing Assistant to order supplies and equipment based on the company’s needs.



The Purchasing Assistant responsibilities include researching new vendors, tracking deliveries and updating order records (e.g. dates, invoices and discounts.) Ultimately, you will make cost-effective purchases and ensure we maintain a fully stocked inventory.



Responsibilities

·    Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs

·    Research potential vendors

·    Produce and distribute purchase orders to UK and European suppliers  

·    Track orders and ensure timely delivery

·    Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)

·    Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices

·    Prepare cost analyses

·    Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts

·    Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders

·    Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition

·    Liaise with Sales order processing to ensure timely flow of dispatch of orders.

·    Annual stock take

·    Stock control 

·    Update supplier price list 



Requirements

·    Good administration experience, purchasing skills will be trained

·    Car owner essential 

·    Reliable & good time keeping essential 



Package/Benefits:

·    Mon – Thurs 9am -5pm and Friday 9am-4pm

·    45 mins lunch 

·    23 days Statutory holidays + bank holidays. (3/4 days to be held back for Christmas shutdown)

·    Free Parking on site 

·    NEST Pension Scheme 

·    Salary £20k per annum
