Logistics Carrier Manager - International Logistics

Reporting into the Head of Function, this role is a high-profile position within the organisation. It is a great opportunity for the right person to come in & make a significant impact.

THE ROLE:

• Carrier Management of international logistics across UK, Europe and beyond.
• Management of predominantly national & international road logistics - with occasional interaction with sea or air logistics.
• Responsibility for significant carrier/3PL spend.
• Agreement of SLA's with carrier/3PL partners with regular performance reviews.
• Onboarding of new carrier/3PL partners where appropriate.
• Engagement with high-profile blue-chip B2B customers.
• This role will be approximately 75% operational & 25% commercial in nature.
• A UK based role but this position will have international travel approximately 30% of the time.
• A role with huge opportunity & autonomy and a boss that will allow you to show what you can do.
• Use of cutting edge IT systems to ensure operational performance is monitored, measured & improved.
• Devise & support the implementation of new operational strategies across the UK, Europe & beyond.
• Creation of solutions and delivery of projects to help grow the footprint of the business.
• Management of a small team of co-ordinators & analysts.

THE PERSON:

• Able to engage with internal & external stakeholders across the UK & beyond.
• Able & willing to travel internationally (approximately 30% of this role will be based abroad)
• Analytical nature - able to understand complex problems and come up with bespoke solutions.
• Experience with International Logistics is advantageous.
• Strong IT systems skills.
• Able to take ownership and drive for operational excellence.
• Carrier Management experience is advantageous.
• Strong commercial acumen.
• Able to think beyond the obvious.
