Tier one global freight forwarder seeking an accomplished business development professional within the contract logistics arena to be their lead national sales professional for this highly profitable area of the business.

Duties:

  • Develop and create a suitable sales pipeline with a total contract value greater than £35m sales pa
  • Assist in the identification of product development to fit into identified target markets
  • Identify & develop prospects into new business and close contracts each year with a combined value of £5m.
  • Handle enquiries, RFIs ,RFQs and tenders from receipt to presentation and subsequent closing of the opportunity
  • Liaise closely with the heads of operation and solution design to ensure appropriate value propositions are developed and executed in the sales cycle
  • Follow the company standard of Contract Logistics Delivery Method encompassing the following phases - business development, tender/solution design, project plan and execution and closing.
  • Support the strategic development of the contract logistics business unit in the UK and work closely with the Contact Logistics director.
  • Present solutions to prospective and existing customers which are class leading and compliment standards which create value and lead to new business wins
  • Ensure new business quoted is consistent with internal financial guidelines
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Identify potential clients and the decision makers within the client organization
  • Identification of Customer Needs and Challenges
