**Business Operations Manager** £100,000+bonus+benefits

Company:
A wholly owned subsidy of a large Investment Group PLC a start-up company has been formed to invest in social finance health projects largely focusing on Africa and South Asia. The company is potentially a game changer in its field. The senior leadership team are recruiting a new high-quality operational team with specialist skills in structured finance, risk quantification and global health to support the growth and development of the organisation. One of the most important hires is a Business Operations Manager who will influence the future direction of the company. This is a significant broad-based role and will suit somebody who has a finance background either a qualified accountant and/or MBA/PHD an engaging personality, energy drive and gravitas.
Role:
Reporting to the COO responsibilities include: Ensuring business operates as a high performing organisation in line with its strategic objectives, lead the recruitment and development of new team, manage key functions including treasury, accounting and finance and risk management and contribute significantly to other start -up corporate areas, lead delivery of the Business Plan adopted by the Board and help implement strategy, including growth targets, market positioning, pipeline process, organisational capacity, operating expenditure budget and forecasts, Implement financial controls, Opex Budget/Actual Variance reporting, liaise with Tax, manage VAT returns implementation, help manage shareholder relations, development of Quarterly Management Reports and Risk Matrix as a management tools including reports to the Board. Manage and further develop key policies in corporate activity and establish strong systems of control for budgeting, expenditure, and audit, advise on the migration away from Group systems and replacement, administer treasury function including a large investment account managed by 3rd party investment company, work with Group internal audit and external auditors.

Candidate profile:

Graduate with strong academics, MBA or PhD, and/or Qualified Accountant with extensive experience developing and managing operations of an established or growing company from a financial, accounting, and administrative background, some experience of risk & compliance, financial analysis, P&L management and reporting, cash management, tax and insurance are desirable. Further experience in procurement, legal, contracting to name a few would also be beneficial. Must have a proven track record of operational management including identifying issues and mitigating risks preferably gained in a private sector financial services organisation or a public sector or development finance organisation. Experience working in complex, global environments with an ability to manage and influence diverse sets of stakeholders coupled with experience of start-ups or growth businesses. Must have experience of providing support to executive and senior leadership teams in financial services, healthcare or other relevant sectors, and motivated by working within high performance environments.
