At Select Norwich we are currently recruiting for a Buyer on behalf of our client based in Brandon (Norfolk). This position is on a temporary basis for 3 months; for the right candidate this could be extended for another 3 months and potentially made permanent.

The Role:

  • Release MRP planned orders
  • Manage and expedite Purchase Orders
  • Distribution and filing of orders
  • Coordinate and process any discrepancies in supplied items and materials
  • Maintain suppliers database - logging performance and failures
  • Inform Operational management of any identified risks to supply
  • Maintain Sage system data for products covered by commodity group
  • Monitor inventory levels, reporting on excess or obsolete items as necessary
  • Project work as required by the Purchasing department


Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Buying role
  • Experience managing purchase orders and suppliers
  • Experience working with Sage or MRP/ERP systems
  • Strong level of MS Office

  • Organised and confident dealing with changing priorities
  • Self-motivated
  • Pragmatic approach


Salary & Benefits

  • Salary of £22-24K pro rata
  • Initially 3 month contract, with potential to be extended to 6 months or made permanent
