My client is looking for an experienced Imports Operations Coordinator to keep everything shipshape.

In this versatile, coordinating costings role you will ensure the effective and efficient day-to-day business logistics is efficient and negotiate best prices and cost savings daily with key suppliers for container shipments for the Far East.

In this role you will be responsible for tasks, such as:

• Being involved in all aspects of service delivery, from the point of loading to the final delivery of goods shipped to the United Kingdom
• Liaising with shipping companies in China, to negotiate best prices for daily shipments
• Liaising with the sales teams to ensure correct quotes and pricing are used
• Instructing hauliers and suppliers regarding import of door-to-door movements and recover additional costs
• Ensure the service provided by the suppliers is cost-effective and matches our customer requirements.

As logistics is an ever-moving business, the Supply Chain Imports Coordinator role is based at their head office in Leeds and is a very demanding and pressured role.

You at least a years’ experience in a relevant supply chain planning role ideally within transport or logistics, this is not essential if you have experience negotiating with suppliers.

The ideal person will need to be a practical organiser who knows how to prioritise. You are no stranger to planning and scheduling, negotiating with suppliers and have the ability to think quickly on your feet regarding problem solving and finding solutions. You will be thoughtful, pro-active with a client-orientated mindset.
