This leading financial institution who are going through a period of phenomenal growth is currently seeking an Operational Risk Manager to lead their First Line risk team that works within across all areas of their organisation. This role will give you the opportunity to expand your Operational Risk capabilities and also give you the opportunity to lead a small team.

The organisation has a new Risk Framework with an updated risk taxonomy and their RCSA processes and this role will allow you the opportunity to be involved in the embedding of the new Risk Framework across the business in the UK.

This role is all about "doing" and needs someone who wants to be really hands-on in the First Line, maintaining the end to end Risk and Control framework, ensuring all risks are captured and mitigating controls are documented and linked to the associated risk. You will be heavily involved in the identification of risk and the assessment, continuous monitoring and reporting processes and supporting risk assessments and leading the regular RCSA cycle for the teams you are partnered with. You will also be involved in inspecting controls in place and assessing the effectiveness of the control environment in place.

From the top down in the organisation risk is front and centre in every decision and initiative, and it will be your responsibility to work with both Second Line colleagues and the business units you are partnered with to cascade the risk agenda throughout the organisation.

To be successful in this role, you need to have experience in a Risk role gained in either a 1LOD or 2LOD capacity with an understanding of a financial services organisation. You will also have strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to deliver accurate direction and sometimes robust messages where required. You will use this ability to influence across all levels of the organisation, using appropriate interpersonal skills and techniques to gain acceptance for ideas and solutions.
