Zachary Daniels has a fantastic opportunity for a Category Manager to oversee various ambient categories for a leading grocery retailer based in Yorkshire. If you have a strong food retail or wholesale buying or Category Management background and are looking for a new challenge we'd love to hear from you!

What does the role involve?

Developing, managing and delivering category management strategies in order to maximise sales and profits .

This role encompasses all aspects of Category Management; you will be responsible for ranging, pricing, strategy development, supplier management, promotional planning and securing income for marketing and media support.

Working closely with Suppliers, Trading Directors amongst other key stakeholders internally across the business and externally.

You will also mentor and develop the Category specific activities of Category and Trading Assistants

Ensure the right product proposition, ranges and promotions are offered to the customer

What are we looking for?

Tenacity, assertiveness and commercial acumen are key in this role. You will be proven in relationship building in both an external and internal capacity using your influencing and strong negotiating skills effectively. Whilst Grocery categories are preferred, experience of creating and delivering strategies within other categories experience will absolutely be considered.
