Assistant Transport Manager required by International Express Logistics services provider in Widnes.

Your primary objectives are to lead process reviews for vehicle usage optimisation, route planning, compliance, driver hours, KPI’s and service partners. Whilst assisting the Site and Operations Managers with leading and motivating the Transport Operations team.

Key responsibilities -

  • Process review for depot and regional cross dock Transport Operations (80 vehicles)
  • Leadership of 120 Transport staff (unionised)
  • Accountable for local route planning and delivery performance (multi site)
  • Management and cost control of transport operations budget
  • Ensure full compliance with VOSA and business rules and regulations
  • Implementation of improved productivity, performance indicators

Candidate specification -

  • Proven track record in Management of fast moving / complex UK Transport Operations
  • Knowledge of TMS / centralised planning tools
  • Project / Change management experience
  • Focussed on Continuous Improvement along with the ability to implement change management initiatives
  • Leadership experience in Unionised environment
  • Degree educated and CPC qualified (preferred)
