A leading engineering business require a Procurement Contracts Specialist to create and manage supply chains in relation to defence avionics projects. Applicants need procurement and commercial acumen, and a technical appreciation of electro-engineering.

The Procurement Contracts Specialist will be responsible for establishing robust supply chains to support current and future, customer order books. A contractually and commercially focused procurement role, the Procurement Contracts Specialist will ensure the effective flow-down of customer commercial terms into subcontractor agreements. An exciting 360 role, the Procurement Contracts Specialist will interface with; suppliers, customers, projects and engineering.

Specific duties of the Procurement Contracts Specialist include:

  • Selection and management of suppliers and subcontractors
  • Negotiation and agreement of long term supplier agreements
  • Vendor Management and Contract Management
  • Construct, negotiate and manage contractual change
  • Ensure suitable subcontract partners are in place to support bid, tender and new business activities

Procurement Contracts Specialists should meet the following criteria:

  • Strategic procurement expertise around; supplier selection, negotiation, vendor and contract management
  • Experience in a technical, project driven engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Technical appreciation of; avionics, mechanical engineering, electro-engineering, product development, manufacturing processes etc.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience of establishing new supply chains or supplier relationships
