An important new job opportunity has arisen for a Category Manager to join my client in Royston, Hertfordshire who are industry leaders in the design and manufacture of complex instrumentation equipment used in automated life science and pharmaceutical sectors

The Category Manager job located in Royston, Hertfordshire will be part of the Global Sourcing Group. The purpose of this role is to strategically manage the supply base and category spend within certain divisions of the business. It includes categories such as turned and milled parts, plate processing and mechanical sub-assemblies. The Category manager is accountable for the global development and implementation of category strategies. They will be managing the existing supply base and identify new sources as well as monitoring industry trends. They will also be involved with implementing cost reduction projects.

The Category Manager, Royston, Hertfordshire will ideally have a BA or HND in Business Studies or relevant engineering discipline or be CIPS qualified/studying towards this. They must have proven experience in strategic sourcing, preferably in the area of turned and milled parts or electronics and preferably within the life sciences industry. The Category Manager will have experience in category management within a global organisation and have good knowledge of ERP systems, ideally SAP.
