Operational Excellence Manager

The opportunity:
The successful candidate will specialise in matters of performance improvement and use this knowledge to identify, design and implement improvement opportunities in support of the company's strategic agenda.
Your Purpose:
* Contribute to the setting of the strategic agenda and operating plans for the Business Units with the Business General Manager and Business Operations Managers
* Introduce step change improvements in quality and service
* Undertake specific projects as required to support business improvement and culture change within the company and will involve working with suppliers and customers
* Continuous cost reduction, improvement in quality and service.
* Elimination of Waste in all forms
* Articulate expected benefits delivery.
* Provide knowledge and support to identify, manage and deliver performance improvement initiatives.
* Facilitate senior management teams involved in re-engineering our major business processes by providing guidance on techniques and by posing stimulating questions and radical solutions to issues.
* Ensure that links with external sources provide best practice knowledge that can be leveraged to enhance the company's competitive advantage.
* Provide a centre of knowledge for external benchmarking of processes within other companies.
* Keep abreast of Best Practice and modern improvement techniques.
* Continuous improvement programmes and agenda are aligned to the company competitive environment.
* Provide expertise and education to staff at all levels in all aspects of performance improvement e.g. re engineering, continuous improvement, Lean, 11 Principles, change management.
* Manage and develop the Business Unit operators in terms of Continuous Improvement.
* Provide knowledge and support to managers in achieving performance improvement.
* Ensure Business Improvement staff are effectively contributing to performance improvements.

Your experience:

* Design and implementation of factory improvement programmes. Project Management,
* Lean Manufacturing & Supply Chain Techniques, Facilitating, Coaching and Training skills,
* Good communication & presentation skills. Capable networker with good external contacts.
* Ability to challenge and support the management of change.
* People Management (eg small team of professionals/large number operatives)
* Able to manage a small team of experts and operate as part of a team.
* Able to influence and motivate colleagues and gain the respect of managers at all levels across the company.
