Buyer - West Berkshire

Role- Buyer

Salary- £27,000- £35,000 per annum (please advise what you would be looking for)

Type- Permanent

Location- West Berkshire

My engineering client designs and manufactures a range of products using different materials, and they are looking to take on a Buyer, on a permanent basis, in the West Berkshire area.

The Buyer will ideally have the following attributes:

• Previous experience working in a similar Buyer / Purchasing role in an Engineering or Manufacturing company
• Have good transactional skills
• Experience working with ERP or MRP systems
• Knowledge and experience of working with different materials like metals and plastics
• Good administration skills (Microsoft Office)
• Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
• The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team

The Buyer role will involve:

• Controlling the budget for spending related to Machining, Injection Moulding, Castings and other Raw Materials
• Reviewing current systems and procedures
• Securing quality suppliers for different materials
• Ensuring all raw materials are purchased for production demands
• Keeping stock at the required level
• Ensuring that procurement conditions are maintained along with the ERP system
• Liaising with colleagues in the production team
