A Birmingham based, successful medium-sized freight forwarding and logistics business with a vast agency and own office network is currently looking for an International Transport & Logistics Executive. The company has a level of customer focus that is uncompromising with exceptional levels of service and quality embedded in its core values.
Reporting to the General Manager you will lead a dynamic and fast-paced Logistics Service team. You will be responsible for sales support, imports, exports and deliveries, and the maintenance and handling of non-conformance, freight saving, stock reconciliation and tracking of shipments. Facilitating the smooth running and effectiveness of your department, you will also have overall responsibility to develop and execute the company's warehouse/transport policy and the freight forwarding Department's Strategic Vision.
You will either have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or at least 3 years relevant experience at NVQ Level 3, ideally in a Shipping environment (multi-modal) logistics experience being preferable. Experience of having worked in Indian Sub-Continent/ Middle-Eastern environments is highly desirable but not compulsory. Relevant logistics industry experience, as well as practical experience or knowledge of imports from the Far-East/India/Middle-East countries to European countries and knowledge of the Chinese shipping industry would be an added asset.
Additional Requirements:
Team management skills are essential for this role, demonstrated through a proven track record of managing teams.
Work experience in multi-country environments is desirable but not mandatory
Knowledge of additional languages such as Hindi, Arabic, Malayalam or Mandarin will be a definite advantage
