An international retailer is currently recruiting for a Junior Buyer, to join a subteam of three and cover indirect categories such as Marketing, HR, Recruitment, Property, etc.
This is an entry level role but it is offering progression and development within the team as well as CIPS study support for the right person.
Core Accountabilities:
· Monitor procurement activity and support aligned business area to ensure that all procurement processes and procedures are implemented
· Support the delivery of key contracts, tenders and quotations for allocated spend areas to ensure that the needs of the business are met in terms of quality of services, price and value
· Support the wider team with procurement activity to ensure that the procurement team meets its obligations in respect of company, statutory and regulatory compliance (e.g. sustainable development)
· Carry out continuous risk and contract reviews, identifying areas of weaknesses and make recommendations for actions taken to ensure exposure to supply risk is minimised
· Manage day to day supplier relationships, liaising with the business and supplier to actively manage the relationship and ensure progress contracts, quotation and other activity
· Complete purchase records and so they are maintained to provide accurate accounting of all purchased goods and services
· Supports procurement team with administrative procurement activity. Follows processes and works under supervision and direction
