A Global Retailer is looking for a high-calibre IT Category Manager to be autonomous and take control of driving the overall IT Procurement strategy forward. Based in the New York City Headquarters, you will be managing the North American category spend across Software, Hardware, Telecoms and IT Services. You will have a heavy influence on improving the overall Procurement strategy alongside the Chief Executives, so strong stakeholder management is essential, and you will have prior experience in leading Strategic Sourcing projects around IT Infrastructure, Applications, Cloud-based solutions and E-Commerce.

As a IT Category Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies around software, hardware, telecoms and IT services, as well as supporting the overall company procurement strategy
- Leading cross-functional teams to implement strategic sourcing and profit improvement initiatives
- Influencing senior stakeholders on improving both the IT and overall sourcing strategies
- Developing relationships with new and existing vendors
- Analyzing and managing the supplier proposal and bid process

The requirements for an IT Category Manager are:
- A strong track record within IT Strategic Sourcing
- Experience leading sourcing projects such as IT Infrastructure, Applications, Cloud-based solutions and E-Commerce
- Strong analytical skills, with a background of contact management
- Autonomy within category management
- Strong stakeholder management, with an influence across all levels of management

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and growing Procurement team. You will be directly responsible for developing the strategy and direction of the IT Category in order to ensure maximum performance, profitability and success of the Procurement department.
