The Client
Our client specialises in high-end, bespoke landscaping projects with large multi-phase landscape installations and smaller projects. Due to the large growth in the company they are currently seeking a Contracts Manager to join their team based in Chelmsford. Salary is around £30k depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that projects are managed effectively and safely to comply with all aspects of the current health and safety regulations
- Production of contract programmes; monitoring, amending and updating project operations accordingly and advising of any potential delays to the senior management and client team
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of active projects including, the scope of works, programme, tender documentation and contract particulars
- Leading the supervisors in presenting and mentoring on the delivery of toolbox talks
- Preparation of Method Statements and Risk Assessments
- Sourcing of materials, negotiating keen prices and placing orders as required
- Ensuring that sites are managed in a clean, safe and tidy manner
- Work closely with QS department to ensure margins are met
- Produce technical specifications
- Assisting with plans and estimates, including budgets and timescales
- Contributing to work planning, and briefing project teams, contractors and suppliers
- Negotiation with clients / potential clients
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid CSCS Card - Management
- SMSTS (Essential)
- First Aid (essential)
- Excellent communication skills
- Previous management experience is essential
- Computer literate in all Microsoft office applications
- Experience within Landscaping and/or Construction Industry
