MD97 – Senior Operations Manager

Location:  London

Salary:  £39,500

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Operations Manager to operate within the Central London Area. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the team of Operations Managers and Group Supervisors in collaboration with another Senior Operations Manager.

9 hour shift, starting times vary between 7am – 11am, working 1 weekend in 5 (9-5).

This role would suit ex-military personal however, all applicants with the correct experience and qualifications will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Operations Managers and Group Supervisors in collaboration with another Senior Operations Manager to ensure continuous support, including holiday management, dealing with queries and complaints.
  • Manage team’s performance and development by holding regular 1-2-1 meetings and 6-month performance reviews.
  • Support and coach the team to ensure excellent management of cleaning contracts.
  • Lead and support the team in dealing with payroll queries, preparing timesheets and ensure the payroll deadlines are met.
  • Track site visit log and ensure all managers visit their sites to the agreed schedules.
  • Monitor the service quality through carrying out weekly site checks and actively seek opportunities to make improvements.
  • Estimate recruitment requirements and communicate it to the Recruitment Team.
  • Ensure timely and accurate trial and probation feedback.
  • Ensure effective candidate and employee allocation to client sites.
  • Ensure development of staff members, including supervisor training.
  • Develop and maintain a steady supervisor pipeline.
  • Ensure that staff training is completed in the appropriate time frame and all training records are uploaded onto a company online database.
  • Attend H&S Committee meetings.
  • Review site risk assessments regularly and make recommendations for change.
  • Support and ensure effective accident investigation and reporting.
  • Ensure that any hazards spotted are dealt with promptly and reported to a client.
  • Ensure all H&S procedures are in place and are being followed, including carrying out risk assessments for new and expectant mothers.
  • Lead and support the team in management of long-term sickness, return to work process, family leave, terms & conditions change, flexible working requests and poor performance.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Management.
  • Experience of managing diverse teams.
  • Training and/or coaching experience.
  • Client relationship management experience.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety in a workplace.
  • Good knowledge of UK Employment Law.
  • Good People management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage teams.
  • Ability to interact at all levels of organization.
  • Good Microsoft Office and Outlook skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
