General Manager (Operations / Logistics)

Position: General Manager – Operations and Logistics
Location: South Coast
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: c£80k (negotiable depending upon experience) with car / car allowance, pension, healthcare, and a flexible benefits scheme.

About the role:

We are currently seeking an experienced General Manager to lead multiple sites, based in the South of the UK (M3 / M4 / M5 corridor). You will have a strong understanding of 'operational basics' and will drive consistent operational excellence in all activities. Your ability to flourish in an environment that is constantly changing is important - we are looking for someone with the drive, ambition, and capability to grow their career and their knowledge across the sectors we operate in.

Responsibilities:

- Manage all aspects of the multi-site operations, covering transport, H&S, warehouse management, distribution management, internal quality control, materials control, and inventory and stock integrity
- Ensure that all customer SLA and KPIs are met and exceeded and that a continuous improvement programme is rigorously managed through driving a culture of continuous improvement within the team across sites
- Manage the relationships between UL and the customers in order to provide leading industry logistics standards
- Ensure that all functional areas are delivered above the quality and standards expected by the company
- The operation will require strong management to meet and exceed the financial targets as set both by our customers and UL
- In addition, to work with UL management to identify efficiency improvement change and work to deliver improvements to both service and cost
