Wiltshire Council is continuing the development of its strategic procurement service and is therefore, seeking talented, commercially minded, high performing procurement professionals to join its team. May suit a senior contracts officer looking for the next step in their career.

The Strategic Procurement Hub is a strategic service that works with colleagues across the authority to maximise value from its £350m annual contract expenditure. Stakeholder engagement and collaboration throughout the Commissioning, Procurement and Contract Management cycle is key to its success so effective relationship management together with innovating thinking and excellent technical procurement knowledge is vital.

The Category Specialist will be responsible for development and delivery of category strategies informed by the appropriate commissioning strategies. They will own and establish category plans aligned with commissioning strategy and undertaken sourcing activity. Additionally, you will be responsible for delivery saving targets and social value delivery.

A relocation package is available for successful candidates, subject to meeting the criteria.

About you

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have sound procurement experience with an MCIPS qualification.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of project management approaches.
